At this stage you will also need to make a selection on padding. Padding is the material that gets installed between your carpet and subfloor. Padding protects your carpet as well as provide increased comfort. You have a handful of options for your padding material. These options range in quality(density), whether they have a moisture barrier, and price.

Things that effect the price include the choice of material and difficulty of installation.
